volunteer service organization which focuses on the environment and community capacity building
Our mission is to assure critical habitat for native species and open space for future generations through environmental education, hands-on projects, advocacy, watch-dogging and land trusting.
Reforestation
Our reforestation is a community-based organization that works towards restoring native Hawaiian forests in the Puna district. The organization engages community members in reforestation efforts, including planting native trees and removing invasive species. Malama o Puna Reforestation also provides education and outreach programs to promote awareness of forest restoration and conservation. Their efforts help to restore ecological balance, mitigate climate change, and preserve biodiversity in the region.
